Each month, Down East editors select our favorite response to “Where in Maine?” Here is our favorite letter from the July photo of Wiggly Bridge in York Harbor.
I grew up in York and have crossed the Wiggly Bridge in York Harbor many times. It is a very neat bridge with a great view of the York River heading toward the harbor. My most memorable crossing occurred when I was 16 years old. My first serious girlfriend and I took a walk down to the Wiggly Bridge, and it’s where I stole my first kiss. This occurred in 1956, and I will never forget it. That girlfriend turned out to be the mother of my three remarkable children. This is a very special picture that I am happy to identify.
