Each month, Down East editors select our favorite response to “Where in Maine?” Here is our favorite letter from September’s photo of Boothbay Harbor.
[cs_drop_cap letter=”I” color=”#000000″ size=”5em” ] immediately recognized that little island on the left and the white shed on its dock. I was curious if my 8-year-old would too. I showed her the picture and said, “What do you think?” She scanned it and, not sure why I was asking, said, “What, Tumbler Island?” Every summer, my parents took me and my sister to visit our grandparents. We played on the little beach with Tumbler just a few hundred yards away. Now, my parents are retired in that house, and my family and kids visit every summer. They play on the beach and look at that little white shed. Four generations of our family have learned to love Boothbay Harbor and our special view of Tumbler. How lucky!
