Aroostook River Ride

An all-day, 28-mile ride beside the rushing Aroostook is beautiful anytime, but visit in midsummer to see the County’s endless fields of pink and white potato blossoms. Start/Finish: Public parking lot, Riverside Dr., Presque Isle.

Freeport–Wolfe’s Neck Escape

Freeport’s congested main drag (L.L.Bean will still be there when you get back) and pedal a gentle 9-mile loop that brings you through nearby Wolfe’s Neck Woods State Park. The coastal panoramas don’t disappoint. Start/Finish: Leon Gorman Park, Bow St., Freeport.

China Lake Loop

This challenging 38-mile trek through rolling farmland loops all the way around the glittering waters of China Lake. Start/Finish: Rummels Field, off Rte. 104, Waterville.

Historic Covered Bridge Ride

An 18-mile route in the shadow of the Mahoosucs makes a perfect summer ride, complete with a photo-op next to the postcard-perfect Lovejoy Covered Bridge. Start/Finish: Junction of Rte. 5 and Rte. 120, Andover.
