I took this photo tonight while boiling sap, a tradition at my house since the 1940’s. It’s a 2 second exposure of the boiling process in my “sap house” which was formerly a neighboring farm’s milk storage shed. It was converted by my Great Grandfather back in the 1940’s to a sap house, or “sugar shack.” It’s one thing about my home that I love, as I am the 6th generation Sawyer to live here since 1864, and I plan to inherit it and pass it on to my children.
