Bowdoin College Grant West Township

Retired Colonel Dante Bulli, one of two survivors of a 1963 B-52 bomber crash on Elephant Mountain, has died at age 94. There’s a memorial at the crash site, where seven people died.

Agnes Gray School students guzzled milk to best other elementary schools in a statewide Get MOOOOving with Milk competition. The kids drank an average of 7.7 servings of milk in one week.

University of New England’s College of Dental Medicine graduated its first class since the school was founded in 2013. Sixty-two students received diplomas.

The Nite Show with Danny Cashman, Maine’s only late-night talk show, celebrated its 20th anniversary.

Maine game wardens rescued the oldest documented bald eagle in the state after it was spotted injured on the shoreline. The 34-year-old bird is recuperating at Avian Haven in Freedom.

Portland

The US Department of Veterans Affairs issued a military headstone for William Brown, an African-American child soldier in the 1798–1800 Quasi-War with France. Historians Larry Glatz and Herb Adams spent three years trying to get recognition for Brown, who is buried in Eastern Cemetery.
