Waldo County Humane Society will hold a free rabies clinic Saturday, May 11, from 9:00 to 11:00am at the Monroe Fire Station, 8 Swan Lake Avenue, Monroe. Dr. Yvette LaHaye of Searsport Veterinary Hospital will be the attending veterinarian.

The rabies shots are free to animal owners residing in Waldo County. Pets from other counties are welcome to come for shots for a small fee.

Donations will be gratefully accepted. Please bring all animals on leashes or in portable pet carriers.

The Orr's and Bailey Islands Fire Department will hold its 20th annual auction and yard sale on the weekend of August 10 and 11 at it's main fire station on Route 24 on Orr's Island in Harpswell. The giant yard sale of items donated by area residents will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The live auction will be held on Sunday at 10 a.m., with preview and registration beginning at 9 a.m. A silent auction of donated goodsand services from area businesses will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday.
