This exhibition is part of a series showcasing the work of artists participating in CSA: Community Supporting Arts, a year long project that aims to promote both local art and local food by partnering 14 artists with 13 CSA farms in and around central Maine. The artists have been creating art inspired by their farmers’ lives, work, landscapes, challenges and ideals since the beginning of the growing season in early spring 2012. Learn more and follow the artists’ progress by visiting the project blog site at csaart.org. For information about the project overall please visit the Harlow Gallery website at www.harlowgallery.org.

CSA: Community Supporting Arts is a project of the Harlow Gallery and the Kennebec Valley Art Association in partnership with the Kennebec Local Food Initiative, an organization based in Gardiner, Maine that strives to strengthen community food security through access, education, information and advocacy. The Kennebec Valley Art Association is a 501(c)3 nonprofit membership based art association that has owned and operated the Harlow Gallery in historic downtown Hallowell since 1963.

CSA: Community Supporting Arts has been made possible by generous grants from the Davis Family Foundation and from the Maine Community Foundation, and is funded in part by a grant from the Maine Arts Commission, an independent state agency supported by the National Endowment for the Arts.
