Where in Maine?

Have you ever visited this "quiet" harbor village?

This island village is often referred to as quiet, but the waters here begin to bustle in June. The summer boats return and kayakers weave in and out of the working vessels. Paddlers often head out from this inlet looking for one of the state’s most famous lighthouses. Several boatbuilders are located here, too, including one of the nation’s foremost yacht manufacturers. And the Coast Guard has a base in town. So it may be quiet in relation to some nearby harbors, but it’s a relative quiet. This small community backs up to some spectacular hills with popular lakes and ponds. Visitors are often drawn to the hiking and then head to some of the fine restaurants downtown or the unique avian museum. And things were certainly not quiet when the Storm of the Century hit. The Stephen King miniseries was filmed hereabouts. Grammy Award-winning indie rock band Arcade Fire also did some shooting here, and the lead singer’s mom lives in town.
