Dolcelinos, the gourmet ice-cream-like sandwiches that have put Swan’s Way Catering (25 Fernalds Neck Rd., Lincolnville, 207-763-3996, www.cateringmaine.com) on the frozen-treat map. Try one (or several) in traditional flavors such as coffee and chocolate-chocolate, or go for the lemon ginger and the adventurous “Aztec” (vanilla custard with a chili powder kick). Inspired by Italian custard-style desserts (hence, the Italiano name), Dolcelinos originally debuted as a dessert option on the company’s catering menu. However, the scrumptious sandwiches developed a loyal following of their own, and have since gone retail. You can pick them up at the Belfast Co-op, the Hope General Store, Treats in Wiscasset, Camden’s French & Brawn and Megunticook Market, and the Market Basket and Fresh off the Farm in Rockport. Look for the treats to appear in more stores soon.
