This new exhibit focuses on York’s continued history as a working waterfront community. Researched through interviews with fishermen and family members, the exhibit examines the fishing and lobstering industry in York today and back through the 20th century. Free. The Orr's and Bailey Islands Fire Department will hold its 20th annual auction and yard sale on the weekend of August 10 and 11 at it's main fire station on Route 24 on Orr's Island in Harpswell. The giant yard sale of items donated by area residents will run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The live auction will be held on Sunday at 10 a.m., with preview and registration beginning at 9 a.m. A silent auction of donated goodsand services from area businesses will be open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday and 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday.
