FOOD

The olive groves of Greece sound like a great place to be right about now, but if you can’t make the long trek, pick up a bottle of Lakonia’s Greek Extra Virgin Olive Oil ($11.50 for a five-ounce bottle). It’s a Maine-Greek, family-made hybrid: the olives are pressed at the Rioux family farm in a small fishing village on the Peloponnese peninsula, and then the oil is sent in bulk to Saco where other members of the Rioux family bottle and sell it. You can buy the olive oil at Lakonia Greek Olive Oil (575 Main St., Suite 1, Saco, 207-282-4002, www.lakoniaoliveoil.com), along with their other products, ranging from olives and salad dressings to wild herbs, cheeses, and assorted Greek imports. Spanakopita, baklava, and many other freshly made sweet and savory treats await you at the store, which has been open since December of 2007.

LAKONIA GREEK OLIVE OIL

My grandaughter brought me a very small bottle of GREEK LEMON SALAD DRESSING...In as much as I eat at least one large salad every day I went thru that bottle in less than a week
I want to get more BUT I want to buy in a larger quantity...Someone told me that I can get a larger volume from the store and bring my own container...If so ,please advise and price for at least 1 quart.
