Savage, a local architect, designed many of the iconic Shingle and Revival-style cottages in Northeast Harbor and Bar Harbor  in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

A slide talk featuring old photographs of Brooks, Maine, and nearby communities that illustrate the area's past, spur memories. and generate historical input from the audience. Consisting of tens of thousands of old photos of Maine and other New England states, the Eastern Illustrating Collection is the centerpiece of Penobscot Marine Museum's extensive photography archives. Eastern Illustrating was a Belfast-based postcard publisher that documented thousands small-town scenes during the first half of the twentieth century.

"Summer Folk: The Tourists of Penobscot Bay" is a campus-wide exhibit exploring the history of tourism from 1890 to 1960. And to commemorate of the two hundredth anniversary of the War of 1812, "The Art of the Sea Battle" features some of the finest marine art in the museum's collection.

A free exhibit of circus models, art, photography, and memorabilia. At the heart of the exhibit is the Bex Bros. Circus, a complete circus scene comprised of thousands of scale models depicting every element of a traditional circus, including sideshows, clowns, trapeze artists, and animal acts. Also on display are circus posters, circus art by Maine artists Alan Fishman, Nancy Morgan-Barnes, and the late Waldo Peirce, and circus images from the museum's own collections of historic photography.
