Join us for this FREE event celebrating outdoor winter fun! It’s a great way to try Nordic skiing, snowshoeing and more with our expert instructors. Test the latest gear from top vendors and warm up with a cup of hot cocoa. Families won’t want to miss sledding, a dog sled team, snow carving and horse-drawn sleigh rides.
All snow-related activities will take place at the L.L.BEAN WINTER SPORTS CENTER. Take a FREE shuttle from our Flagship Store—it’s just a 5-minute ride.

Three weekends of winter fun in Bethel! We’re building a Snowcano – that’s right, a volcano made of snow! – to celebrate the season.
Feb. 9 – Sledding hill on the side of the Snowcano open to public (BYOS – bring your own sleds)
Feb. 16 – Snowcano erupts at 6:30 p.m.! A 40-foot-tall bonfire will be built inside a huge snow hill. The sparks and flames create the effect of a volcano – see it to believe it!
Feb. 23 – RAILWARS rail jam. Skiers & riders show off their best moves on rails set into the side of the Snowcano.
Boar's Head and Yule Log Festival

The Rockland Congregational Church is presenting its 2013 Boar's Head & Yule Log Festival on January 5 and 6th , 2pm, in its sanctuary at 180 Limrock Street in Rockland. In the tradition of 6th Century England, this pageant celebrates in song and dance the triumph of Good over Evil in the birth of the Christ Child. Live animals, elaborate costumes and the Mid-Coast Brass Quintet make this pageant a tradition not to be missed. Tickets on sale now by calling 594-8656. $15. reserved seats, $10, general admission; Visa and Mastercard accepted. Proceeds go to the Area Interfaith Outreach.
