Continuing its exploration of the history of summer tourism on Penobscot Bay, Penobscot Marine Museum will hold Summer Folk Game Days on three Saturdays this summer: June 23, July 14, and August 25. Game Days will include lawn games such as croquet, badminton and bocce, and indoor games like cribbage, backgammon, checkers and chess. The events run from noon to 4 p.m.

Rachel’s Run and Kids’ Fun raises awareness and funds for the work NRCM is doing to keep toxic pollutants out of Maine. The event will take place in Augusta’s Capitol Park and on the Kennebec River Rail Trail.

The pond will be stocked with trout and kids are welcome to take their catches home for dinner! Casting, fly-fishing, and fly tying instruction, too.

The dining commons at the York County Shelter Programs, in Alfred, will be transformed into a beautiful formal teahouse with a welcoming waitstaff, linen tablecloths and napkins, flowers, and  live classical music. Tea and coffee, apple crisp and ice cream, mixed berries shortcake, and an array of scrumptious desserts from the Bakery at Notre Dame will be served.
