Using slides and lecture, this seminar begins with the ways shamanism is practiced today in the Upper Amazon region of South America — how souls are lost and found, as well as the perils of entering that mythic world.

C. G. Jung called shamanism "the oldest form of medicine" and "the natural spirituality of the human psyche." Slides and lecture lead us through the ancient caves of the last Ice Age to the methods of "journeying" used by shamans and Jung himself in his "active imagination."

Taught by members of the U.S. Power Squadron, this seminar explains  the 37 Rules of the Road for both the U.S. Inland Rules and the International Rules (COLREGS).

OUPV Class: Known as the 6-Pack. This license is required for carrying up to six passengers for hire. It can be used for entry level delivery captains or mates, or captains of private boats for short cruises. This is a frequent license used for fishing guides. This is also a great license for the private owner who wishes to become a better skipper of their own vessel. The course teaches you to be a competent boat pilot. The class is fifty-six hours long.

Basic principles of meteorology will presented in this course, providing a foundation for the mariner to understand common weather systems. Topics covered will include: structure of the atmosphere; basic meteorological concepts; mid-latitude high and low pressure systems; fronts; upper air concepts analysis; tropical weather systems (waves, depressions, storms, and hurricanes); ocean wave development; local wind circulations; and thunderstorms.
