The Maine Iris Society's fifty-second annual Iris Show has a plant sale in which you can purchase Standard Dwarf Irises along with other types of Perennials. These shorter irises will bloom during the month of May and will be on sale at very reasonable prices. We will also have other types of potted irises for sale.

A public auction of annuals, perennials, shrubs, house plants, and garden-related items. The Maine Iris Society is a non-profit group that is made up of people of all ages who are interested in irises.

Playwright/performer Rivera Sun Cook, touring the state with "The Freedom Stories of Lala", shares her skills and secrets to creating lively, entertaining, fun, and heart-warming stories for all occasions from intimate family gatherings to theatrical evenings.

Welcome to 1890 Lovely, Kansas, a drought-stricken all-negro town, where a Chinese man rides a dust storm into ten year old Lala’s home and wins her Mamalou’s heart, spurring the gossipy shock of everybody else. Lala’s lyrical and imaginative child’s eye lends fresh perspective to ages old racial issues, washing us all with the sweet wisdom of an old soul in a small body. Full of humor and lively dancing, adults and children alike enjoy this gem of a performance.

This newly formed quartet consists of Bates College Professor Robert Dan on viola, Claudia Warburg on violin, Benjamin Noyes on cello, and Chiharu Naruse on piano tackling Brahms’ Piano Quartet in A Major.
