Explore the depths of the human psyche trapped in two dimensions with artists Sarah Stevens and Christian Day, a couple who found each other through their mutual love of art on an artwork sharing site- deviantArt. This body of work has each, in their own way, expressing the darker side of humanity and then coming together to collaborate on pieces that bring together photography and collage. This show will run through November 17th.

The reception is open to the public and will give attendees the chance to meet this year’s Art in the Park artist Katherine Herard whose piece Ebb and Flow has been in place since the unveiling on May 11 and will be shown through October. The Gardiner Art in the Park program was established in 2005 to highlight local artists and to bring temporary sculpture to the parks in the Gardiner downtown.

Featuring over twenty female artistsans and craftwomen who will display their high quality, handcrafted pottery, handbags, glasswork, clothing and accessories, home accents, stained glass, and sculptural ceramic art.

Experience first hand the direct link between Maine’s long history of fine handcrafted objects and its contemporary practitioners at the sixteenth annual Crafts Show at the maine State Museum. Come meet thirty of Maine’s finest craftspeople and begin your holiday shopping.

Rachel’s Run and Kids’ Fun raises awareness and funds for the work NRCM is doing to keep toxic pollutants out of Maine. The event will take place in Augusta’s Capitol Park and on the Kennebec River Rail Trail.

The Pinterest Boot Camp will cover the following topics: What Pinterest is and how it works; Pinterest’s growth: basics and terminology; benefits and strategies for using Pinterest for businesses; Copyright infringement concerns; interaction and engagement; measurement; case studies, and Pinterest fun.

The Greater Gardiner River Festival includes the Kavanaugh Carnival on the waterfront at 4 pm; Maine vendors selling festival foods; the Bilge Pumps rock band from 7-9 pm; and  fireworks from Central Maine Pyrotechnics after 9 p.m.
