Bring the kids downtown in their costume to visit downtown businesses to trick or treat. Last year more than two hundred people visited sixteen downtown businesses. This year we exepect even more businesses to participate!

The Downtown Bangor Partnership has organized a one day, outdoor market for Oktoberfest. There is space available for artistic, creative, and industrious vendors to sell Maine-made fine arts, crafts, specialty food items, and produce. All items sold must be handmade, prepared or raised by the vendor. The fee is twenty-five dollars for vendors. Applications are required and are being accepted on a first come first served basis; the application and vendor guidelines are available at downtownbangor.com/okt​oberfest.

 Enjoy the area's finest cuisine while dining under the stars in historic downtown Waterville. This annual festival runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. with finger foods and entertainment for adults and children.

The Maine Discovery Museum’s ninth annual gala dinner-auction, featuring more than sixty fabulous one-of-a-kind wooden shelves painted by Maine artists from all across the state. 

Maine country artist Kelly Parker participates in the 2011 Q-106.5 Texaco Country Showdownas part of the largest Country Music Talent Search at the Bangor Waterfront Pavilion. Parker has had the opportunity to share the stage with countless honorable acts and will be opening for Miranda Lambert headlining the second stage at Meadowbrook US Cellular Pavilion this coming August. The thirtieth annual Country Showdown is designed to find the most promising country music talent in America and to give these performers a chance to launch their professional music careers.

This free open studio tour draws crowds numbering in the hundreds to meet local artists and to celebrate downtown Bangor as a destination. Meet up with your friends or family, enjoy a meal at a downtown restaurant, or explore the many cultural resources the city has to offer.
