Ten groups of Salt Institute for Documentary Studies students visited the Oxford County Fair in Oxford, Maine and each found their own story to tell. Part 7 of 11 looks at all the hands that go into making the fair what it is.
“Our hands reach out and put things together, or take them apart, and that’s especially true for the hands at the Oxford County Fair. From one hand to another, we expect to see money exchanged, food eaten, trash thrown away, and garbage picked up, but what does the fair show us about our hands that we don’t expect? With hands as our tour guide, we unearth a surprising backstory for the Oxford County Fair.” — Produced by Barton Girdwood and Kristin Moe
