Choral concert: "The Promise of Light"

Greater Freeport Community Chorus will present its annual winter concert, "The Promise of Light." The seventy voices of the GFCC come together from fourteen different communities to sing under the dynamic leadership of director Virgil Bozeman and his musical partner, accompanist Dorothy Cuprak. The concert features such diverse works as George Frederick Handel's "And the Glory of the Lord," Felix Mendelssohn's "There Shall a Star from Jacob Come Forth," Gordon Bok's "Bay of Fundy," and wonderful contemporary arrangements of some familiar holiday songs. Perhaps most notable among these is Dave Brubeck's jazz version of "We Three Kings" that features local percussionist Gary Fuller.
