Playing Dodge ‘Em on Maine Ice

March 1968

When the starter’s flag drops, every driver goes flat out over the slippery ice, cars bouncing and caroming off one another in what has been described as ‘about as close to a demolition derby as you can get.’ Collisions and near-misses provide plenty of thrills for hundreds of spectators who stand around in the freezing cold to watch the spectacle.
