Ruin is a PDN Photo Annual Winner!

RUIN by Brian Vanden Brink is a 2010 PDN Photo Annual Winner

RUIN: Photographs of a Vanishing America by Brian Vanden Brink was recently chosen by Photo District News magazine as one of the best photo books of 2010. The book was recognized in the May 2010 issue of the magazine as one of "PDN's Players, Innovators who made the year in photography." The awards recognize the best in photography from around the world. An award event was held May 20 in New York.

In RUIN, Vanden Brink explores America's abandoned architecture. From houses and mill buildings to military bases, the book focuses on what was built but then abandoned, what held life but now holds only echoes. With an introduction by historic preservationist and architectural expert Howard Mansfield, this collection of photos grants permanence to places that may soon vanish forever.
