'Lucky the Lobster Buoy' Tells His Tale in Camden
For young readers and those who read to them, Planet Toys in Camden will be the place to be when Karel Hayes is in town Monday, July 6, to sign copies of her new picture book, The Amazing Journey of Lucky the Lobster Buoy. The event will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Published by Down East Books, the new book tells the tale of a classic wooden lobster buoy belonging to a boy named Tim! He names the buoy Lucky and, sure enough, it lives up to its name. Lucky’s lobster trap is always filled with those crusty crustaceans. The buoy’s luck holds out even when Lucky becomes separated from his trap. After enduring amazing adventures at sea, the buoy finds its way back home to Tim again.
Written and illustrated by the award-winning Karel Hayes, this picture book makes a great read for Mainers and for families vacationing along the shore. This tale of adventure at sea and return to safe harbor also makes a reassuring bedtime story for children everywhere.
