Engineers Without Borders to Host “Beer + Wine = Water” Fundraiser
Portland Chapter Creates Event to Spotlight the Need for
Safe, Clean Drinking Water in Ghana, Africa
Portland, Maine –September 26, 2012 --The Portland chapter of the national organization Engineers Without Borders (EWB, ewbportlandmaine.org), will host the inaugural "Beer + Wine = Water (http://www.facebook.com/events/484426114914309/)," a festive evening event featuring the Jason Spooner Band and an array of tempting appetizers and treats from local caterers and accompanying beer and wine tastings from local purveyors including Shipyard, Geary’s and Maine Mead. An extensive silent auction with attractive items including sailing excursions from Portland Schooner Company, a spa package from Fabu Salon and Day Spa, roundtrip Amtrak Downeaster tickets, a Gritty's gift basket, gift cards from local restaurants and merchants, and more will round out the festivities and raise funds the organization's water-focused work in Ghana, Africa. The event will be held at the Ocean Gateway Terminal on October 18, 5-10 p.m., and tickets are now on sale.
