Performed as a revue in one act, Assassins offers up nine sharply drawn sketches of people who killed presidents of the United States - or gave it their best shot. The winner of multiple TONY Awards, Sondheim’s glimmering and flavorful score gives a nod to the all-American sounds of Foster, Sousa, and Copland. It remains provocative, innovative, riveting, and timely as ever in this election year. “Everybody just hold tightly to your dreams!” Music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim, book by John Weidham and directed by Ed Reichert. This production will be held Friday, November 2 at 8 p.m., Saturday, November 3 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, November 4 at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m. at Corthell Concert Hall, USM Gorham.
