Celebrate Being A Kid For Free At Boothbay Railway Village
Boothbay, ME 04537
On Saturday, September 21 admission to the Boothbay Railway Village will be free for all children 16 years old and under. In addition to the offer of free admission, the museum will also roll out the red carpet for kids of all ages – even the young at heart – with free rides in a Ford Model T, a 1936 Dodge Fire Truck (originally in service in Augusta, Maine) and our very own tractor-powered “barrel train.” The Village will be open from 9:30 am – 5 pm on Children’s Day with hourly train departures between 10 am – 4 pm.
The Village, with 28 exhibit structures and historical buildings, has something for everyone in the family including a collection of more than 55 antique vehicles and an extensive model railroad exhibit. Another highlight of a visit for younger guests is a stop to say “hello” to the resident goats.
Children’s Day will also be the first opportunity for the public to purchase Museum Memberships with a new rolling membership year and benefits. The most popular Family Level Membership includes many new benefits with no fee increase. For just $60 two named members plus all children or grandchildren (18 and under) accompanying them on each visit receive free museum admission for twelve months. Families will especially benefit from a new members only discount on Day Out With Thomas™ tickets and complimentary ticket processing for Day Out With Thomas™ when using a Member Order Form. Another improvement in the membership program is the addition of reciprocal membership benefits to 200 museums through the Time Travelers program. There will be a Membership Table at Children’s Day for those interested in learning more about Membership opportunities.
