For lots of girls, nothing beats dressing up like a princess. At least that’s the philosophy behind one Maine company. Sheabella Tutus (www.sheabellatutus.com), based in Brunswick, creates tutus for dress up, dance, or any other costume-requiring activity. Founder Carrie Sullivan’s three daughters were the original inspirations for the company, which started in 2007. Choose from princess (eighteen inches to twenty inches), classic (twelve inches to fourteen inches), and ballerina (eight inches to ten inches) with adornments such as flowers, bows, and sparkles on a range of pastel-colored tulle. The company also makes poof wands and mermaid tails to satisfy more elaborate dress up needs. The tutus sell for thirty-eight dollars to forty-two dollars, depending on the style, and can be purchased online or at Pitter Patter (129 Front Street) in Bath.
