Attention, Kittery shoppers (and Maine lovers everywhere): put down your bags and head on over to the Raitt Homestead Farm Museum on Route 103 in Eliot (only a five-mile drive from the outlets) for some Maine food and fun at the third annual Celebrate Maine Festival. There is no better time than the splendrous month of August to sample tasty Maine treats, listen to local bands, and peruse artisan booths — all in the name of celebrating our favorite state. August 9 & 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Georgia O’Keeffe wasn’t only one of the twentieth century’s preeminent painters, she also happened to be a favorite subject of America’s pioneering photographers. Georgia O’Keeffe and the Camera: The Art of Identity at the Portland Museum of Art pairs her paintings with photographs of the artist by such famous photographers as Ansel Adams, Alfred Stieglitz, Eliot Porter, Todd Webb, and Arnold Newman.
