The Leura Hill Eastman Performing Arts Center will once again take part in the Met Summer Encores, a series of screenings from the groundbreaking Met Live in HD series.
All screenings of the Summer Encores will take place on Wednesdays at 7 p.m. Tickets may be ordered through the Box Office by calling (207) 935-9232 or by visiting www.fryeburgacademy.org. The theater is located at 18 Bradley Street on the Campus of Fryeburg Academy in Fryeburg, ME. Parking is free.

After the Hilton House Hotel burned to the ground in 1903, Frances Sortwell, whose family owned the house across the street, put the hotel's foundation to good use. She and her friends, including Rose Isabel Greeley, one of the first female landscape architects in the country, transformed the site into a sunken garden. Join Historic New England's Cathy Messmer to explore the creation of this and other special garden spaces.

The Castine Arts Association is proud to sponsor its first plein air festival on Saturday, July 27th, 2013 in the Town of Castine, Maine. Thirty five artists will be accepted to participate in this one day art event. The day will begin at the Castine Town Common on Court Street at 7:30 AM where the event’s artists will register and then proceed to various locations within the Town of Castine to create one or more original paintings on site. At 6 PM, the arts association will host a public reception, artist award ceremony and art sale at the Maine Maritime Academy's Harborview Room.

Swan Island takes part in Richmond Days Celebration. We will offer $5 island truck tours at 9 am, 11 am, 1 pm, and 3 pm on Saturday. Each tour will leave the Swan Island landing in the island ferry and travel across the river for a 2 hour tour and then return directly to the dock. Once back at the dock you can join in many other Richmond Days festivities. Space is limited so make sure you put your name on the list at the Friends of Swan island booth located in the Island parking lot on July 27th.
