After his presentation spend time in the field identifying butterflies with Bob. Arrive at the Mainland ferry landing before 10am. Return time will be around 1pm. Reservations are a must! Bands on the Run is a fitness event that engages runners from all over the world Bands on the Run is a fitness event that engages runners from all over the world with three events: Half Marathon, 5K, and Kids' Fitness Course. The inaugural event in 2012 brought in almost 1,000 participants traveling from Scotland to Hawaii. It was a fun-filled day with more than nine bands, dancing and DJ's spanning 13.1 miles around the historical neighborhoods in the Lewiston and Auburn area. Museum L-A anticipates double the participation over last year!

As casualties from World War I in Europe began to multiply, a group of young Americans volunteered to drive ambulances at the front with the American Field Service (AFS). AFS was made up of college boys, young professionals, artists, and businessmen, including Wiscasset's Edward Carter Sortwell. William Foley, who has the largest AFS collection in the country, tells the story of this heroic organization and its local connection. Foley shares photos, letters, and objects, which are the foundation of "Before the Doughboys" at Smithsonian Institution in 2014.
