Cecilia Chamber Choir will hold auditions for all voice parts beginning Sept. 6 and continuing through the third week of September. The Choir sings a variety of challenging repertoire from the medieval period to new compositions. Rehearsals are in Newcastle on Wednesday nights, with periodic performances in Newcastle and Brunswick, and occasionally other Maine locations. The Choir is directed by Linda Blanchard and accompanied by Sean Fleming, both of Damariscotta.

Belfast-In celebration of the arts and the art of farming, the Belfast Creative Coalition has partnered with the Maine Farmland Trust to create “Cultivate: Belfast Area Farm and Arts Trail”.
‘Cultivate’ identifies artists’ studios, galleries, cultural organizations and farms in the Belfast area that are open year round as family-friendly day trip destinations. It also highlights the growing hiking and bike trail system that runs throughout Waldo County.

Maine Huts & Trails is teaming up with the Crossroads International Celtic Festival to present the first-ever Peaks with Perks concert at the Stratton Brook Hut on Thursday, September 12th. Running from 2:00-4:00 pm, the performance will feature Maine’s first family of “Old Timey Downeast Music”, the Gawler Family.
The Gawler Family is made up of John and Ellen Gawler and their three daughters, Molly, Edith, and Elsie. Based out of Belgrade, Maine, they are a fun-loving, folk singing group known for mixing harmonies with fiddles, banjos, cellos, guitars, ukuleles and the piano.
