The Georgetown Working League is holding their 100th annual fair in 2013. Quilt raffle, handmade items,collectibles, homemade baked goods, art, crafts, books, jewelry, white elephants, childrens activities, lunch. All proceeds benefit the town.

Beginning at noon on June, 17, this fun scrabble style golf tournament is open to teams and individuals of all levels. There will be prizes, awards, a raffle and a turf and turf dinner folowing the tournament. The event is organized by the Kennebunk-Kennebunkport-Arundel Chamber of Commerce.
Opening reception, meet and greet the artists on Friday, July 5, from 5-8pm. Live jazz keyboard by Mike Maurice. Free, light refreshments. Exhibit and sale continues through July 27 in the historic cape, 272 Pikes Hill, Norway.

Kate Gilmore: MFA Summer '13 Lecture Series
Kate Gilmore's performance videos feature often feature herself as a female protagonist struggling to overcome a self-imposed obstacle. Her live "Through the Claw" performance piece at The Pace Gallery in New York in 2011 featured five women in yellow flower print dresses tasked with dismantling a giant cube of clay. Her themes of displacement, female identity, and the body's relationship to systems of power are reflected in her artful and occasionally absurd critiques of sex and gender.

Sam Abell is one of the most experienced and accomplished teachers and photographers in the field today. From 1970 to 2005, Sam worked for National Geographic as a contract and staff photographer and as a Photographer in Residence. In 1990, his work was the subject of a one-person exhibition at the International Center of Photography in New York. Accompanying the exhibit was a mid-career retrospective monograph titled, Stay This Moment. Since then he has published three collections of his work: Seeing Gardens, Sam Abell: The Photographic Life, and, most recently, The Life of a Photograph.
