Mike Wilson drives an eighteen-wheeler in the North Woods, but he doesn’t haul logs. He hauls their past, and maybe their future.Wilson, of Bethel, and his seventy-two-foot big rig tour the north country, stopping at local festivals and special events in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, and New York, setting up informational exhibits and multimedia shows. He operates a museum on wheels, celebrating a forest-based heri-tage and culture that is too easily lost amid the pressures and hectic pace of change that seem to be engulfing the region.
