207 features Down East's 'The Best of Maine'
The editors of Down East reveal their choices of the Best of Maine for the January 2008 issue of Down East Magazine . The best place to celebrate an anniversary dinner, the best place to take out-of-state visitors, the best place to find unexpected treasures are but a few of the "bests" declared by Down East.

The issue, the first of its kind for Down East, was featured on a recent edition of WCSH's 207. Video of coverage of the Best of Maine can be seen on the WCSH website. (The 'play video' link appears on the right-hand side of the screen.)

Is this list subjective? Certainly! And it comes from the editors who have known Maine At Its Best since 1954.  We invite you to share your choices for Maine's best here.

On Page 20/21 of the January 2008 Best of Maine issue, you mentioned the Stockton Springs Community Library collects cans to purchase books. I read a lot and would love to donate the books I am done with to the library in memory of my mother, who was in love with Maine. She fell in love with it, when I attended Universtiy of Maine in Orono 1989-1992. Is there anyway of obtaining an address where to send donated books? Thanks so much Jilleen Hays
